ARNALDO CARMOUZE (Graziano) is happy to be in his first regional performance at New Theatre. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Miami-Dade College and graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. He has recently finished a school tour with GableStage entitled Shakespeare's Sonnets: In His Own Words directed by Deborah Mello
STEVE GLADSTONE (Shylock) has appeared professionally on stage since 1975, recently seen in Amadeus (Mosaic Theatre) and received the Hindman award and a Carbonell nomination for his portrayal of the Old Man in Blind Date at New Theatre. His motion picture credits include Hot Stuff, The Island and The Specialist. He garnered a Clio award for a spot for the Miami Herald. As a playwright, he received the Benny Davis ASCAP Musical Theatre award (book and lyrics) for South of the North Pole. Steve is the President of the Florida branch of Screen Actors Guild and a proud member of Actors' Equity.
KORKEN ISKENDERIAN (Lorenzo) is thrilled and honored to be part of the Summer Shakespeare Project at New Theatre. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre and Music Business at the University of Miami. He was last seen as Dale Harding in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. (Hillel Theatre).
EURIAMIS LOSADA (Bassanio) is overjoyed to be rejoining his artistic family in what he considers his creative home. New Theatre credits include Othello, Twelth Night (Bill Hindman award/ Best Supporting Actor), Long Days Journey Into Night (Curtain Up Nomination), Beauty of the Father, King Lear, Midsummer Night's Dream, and Barrio Hollywood. Musical theatre credits include Zombie Prom and It's A Fabulous Life (Broward Center), Jekyll & Hyde and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Stage Door) and Bat Boy (Shores Theatre; Carbonell Award). Other awards include Curtain Up Award for Best New Male Performer.
CHRISTIAN MANSFIELD (Lanzelot) is thrilled to be making his New Theatre debut this summer. Other Florida credits include: A Cuban Christmas Carol (Fresco Productions), and Oklahoma! and Chicago (Seaside Music Theater). Last summer, he appeared in the world premiere of Odysseus Died from AIDS, a production that eventually traveled to the NYC Fringe Festival where it won an award for Best Ensemble. A recent graduate of UM with a BFA in Musical Theatre, this NY native plans on returning home in September to continue his career as a performer in the Big Apple.
BEATRIZ MONTAÑEZ (Jessica) was last seen at New Theatre in Barrio Hollywood as Graciela. Christine Dolen referred to her "dazzling debut" as one of "Theatre's Top 10" in her Year in Review: Art & Entertainment column. Montañez recently finished a successful run of Real Women have Curves at Teatro Venevision Internacional and has participated in various International Hispanic Theatre Festivals with Prometeo. There, she has received great acclaim and was named "2004's top break-through performance" by El Nuevo Herald critic Norma Niurka for her portrayal of Suzanne in Josephine's Bakery.
STEPHEN NEAL (Duke of Venice/ Tubal/Prince of Morroco/ Prince of Aragon) Favorite roles include the Stage Manager in Our Town, (Shores Theatre) Ross in The Goat, (GableStage) the rascally title character in Tom Walker and Malvolio in Twelfth Night (New Theatre). Also at New Theatre he has appeared in A Town Like Irving, Othello, and last summer's Shakespeare Project: where he played Gloucester in King Lear and Egeus/Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Directing favorites include The Taming of the Shrew, The Mikado, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma!, A Midsummer Night's Dream and most recently, Affluenza! (New Theatre).
ANNEMARIA RAJALA (Portia) - is thrilled to return to the stage here at New Theatre where she was previously seen in The Diaries, A Midsummer Night's Dream and King Lear as well as Times Like These for which she received a Carbonell Nomination for Best Actress. A native of Finland, she relocated to
Miami to attend New World School of the Arts, where she earned a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre Performance. She's also been seen working with Actors' Playhouse, Hollywood Playhouse, Giovanni Luquini Performance Troupe, Miami Light Project, Creative Arts Enterprises, Artemis Performance Network, and Circ X.
NICHOLAS RICHBERG (Antonio) is pleased to be returning to New Theatre where he appeared in last season's premiere of Wait and See. Local credits include: Ten Unknowns (Judd, GablesStage); Proof (Hal, Mosaic); It's a Fabulous Life! (Joe); Blood Brothers (Mickey, Shores - Carbonell Award Nomination, Curtain Up Award: Best Actor-Musical); Crimes of the Heart (Barnette, Shores); A Shayna Maidel (Duvid, Mosaic). Nicholas attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Music. He is a proud member of Actors' Equity, the union of professional actors in the United States.
CECILIA TORRES (Nerissa) - is a graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theater making her theatrical debut with New Theatre. Some of her favorite performances: The Laramie Project, Sweet Charity, and Good News. She is also a teacher for Steet Dance at the U of M Wellness Center where she was awarded the 2005 Outstanding Graduating Senior award from the Frost School of Music.
