Glyn O'Malley has had a career both here in the United States and also in Europe. He's seen four plays of his premiere in Athens, Amsterdam, Vienna, and Frankfurt. Closer to home, other plays have been seen at Lincoln Center, Playwright's Horizons, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Glines, The Phoenix Ensemble, The WPA Theatre and others. He has been commissioned frequently - Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park, City Lights Youth Theatre, Lincoln Center Institute, to name a few. He wrote his first film documentary The Flight of The Seagull which took him to the Moscow Art Theatre. Narrated by Edward Albee with a guest appearance by Rosemary Harris the film is produced by Horizon Video and Films, Austin, Texas. He's received numerous awards, some are: New York Foundation for The Arts Award, The Jerome Foundation, The Last Frontier Theatre Conference Award, Carbonell Award nomination, and others.

He is an active Member of The Dramatist Guild of America, The Freedom To Write Committee, PEN American, is on the Artistic Advisory Board of The New Theatre, Coral Cables, Florida, a "Flea" at The Flea Theatre, New York City, a Fellow at The Cherry Lane, New York City, on the Theatre faculty at Lehman College/CUNY, and on others such as - Sarah Lawrence College, Playwright's Horizons Theatre School/NYU, North Carolina School of the Arts (where he is an Alumni), The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, a Visiting Professor at Austin Peay State University and lectured at Harvard University and conducted workshops, or been a Playwright-in-Residence at many other colleges, universities and professional training programs.

From 1975-84, he was Assistant to Edward Albee and continues a relationship that has changed with time and circumstances: O'Malley produced the world premieres of Albee's Marriage Play and his Pulitzer Prize winning play, Three Tall Women for Vienna's English Theatre, Ltd., he has directed twelve of his plays, and is the only playwright/director Mr. Albee allowed to create a "new" work from the canon of his works: ALBEE'S PEOPLE -- comprised of two evenings - Albee's Men and Albee's Women which premiered at San Diego's Tony Award winning Old Globe Theatre.

In addition to the above, Mr. O'Malley has had an extensive directing career staging plays of all sorts in New York City, regional theatres across the USA, in England, Germany, Austria, The Czech Republic, Guatemala, Greece, and Finland. While Associate Producer for Vienna's English Theatre, Ltd. he directed many American productions in NYC/Chicago/LA some with stars such as Rue McClanahan, David Carradine, Larry Hagman, Nancy Kwan, and Linda Gray and transferred them to Vienna. His production of Three Tall Women starring Kathy Ireland at San Diego Repertory Theatre was selected as "Critic's Choice-Best Production" of 1997.
