Carol Schoffel Faber is a shareholder with Akerman Senterfitt (www.akerman.com), a full-service commercial law firm with over 400 attorneys in offices throughout Florida and in Washington, D.C. Ms. Faber has been practicing law in Miami for over 20 years, primarily in the areas of commercial real estate and general business transactions. Her practice includes all aspects of leasing work (including office, industrial, telecommunications and retail leases, representing both landlords and tenants), mortgage and other loan transactions, participations and mezzanine loans representing lenders and borrowers, acquisitions and sales of improved and vacant commercial and high-end residential real estate, construction matters, and general domestic and international business transactions.

In addition to her law practice, Ms. Faber is an active member of the community. She currently sits on the Executive Committee of the Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council of the Urban Land Institute, and is on the Board of Directors of Congregation Bet Breira in Miami. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (of which she is a past Director), the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and the American Bar Association. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Florida, and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami, where she was an editor on the Law Review, and a member of the Wig and Robe Honor Society. She is AV rated by Martindale Hubble, and is a title agent for First American, Chicago Title, Lawyers Title, and Attorneys Title Insurance Fund, among other title underwriters.

Ms Faber has been a theater lover and audience member for many years, and has been a season-ticket holder of New Theatre for more than 10 years. She is married to Robin W. Faber, a Senior Trial Attorney with the Miami-Dade County Public Defenders Office and is the mother of 2 teenagers.
