Mark Buchbinder
Mark Buchbinder is the Executive Director of the Alliance for Human Services. The Alliance serves as the county-wide agency in Miami, Florida that is responsible for the development of the community's Social Services Master Plan, the distribution of funding for community-based organizations, and the management and facilitation of cross-systems issues.
Prior to his serving in this position he the was a recipient of a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Builder Fellowship and assigned to the Community Planning & Development program division in the Miami, Florida Office. He was previously the Program Director for the Sadowski Legal Fellowships in Community Development project, a program of the Greater Miami LISC program, which created pro bono opportunities for attorneys and law students to assist community development organizations and projects. Mr. Buchbinder is an attorney (Florida Bar), a certified mediator, and has a background in urban and regional planning. He received his J.D. degree from Columbia Law School and a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Miami. He is a former VISTA volunteer and legal services attorney. Mr. Buchbinder practiced law in his own firm in Miami for 22 years, was the South Florida Coordinator for the Florida Conflict Resolution Consortium, and has been active in many community human services programs and boards.
